Gogol Googly!!!

Its a movie based on Jumpa Lahri's novel, The Namesake... Well, a critically acclaimed movie... But to me, it was just a googly... i am still trying to understand what the director wanted to put across to the audience thro this movie...

I must agree, the first half of the movie is brilliant... i was laughing my soul out... some really hilarious dialogues and there was an amazing closeness to life in that half... after the intermission, i was actually waiting for something to happen in the movie... i was missing popcorn! It got boring and i was kinda lost... What was Gogol akka Nikhil trying to do? I still am bemused...

Am not writing any review for the movie, am not technically educated on movies to judge on the direction, the screenplay, and the likes... as an audience, what endears me in a movie are its dialogues, its closeness to life, its plot and music... while the first half of the movie kept me captive, i suddenly felt i needed more intelligence to understand the second half... Am still trying to put the pieces of this Gogol puzzle together... anyone there who got to the answer?

How extraordinary.

man, that's what i felt after watching the film. I had watched KWK with mira nair and tabu, and all of those idiots (who had watched the special screening, i hope u watched tht episode) spat out shit-load of praise.

I felt like an idiot after watching the film. after the movie ended and everyone started walkin out of the theatre, my friend asked if i liked the movie. I asked him, 'are you sure kee movie khatam ho gayee hai?'
